IT Legal Counsel

Join us as a Legal Counsel take ownership of our legal, compliance, and cybersecurity operations in the Czech Republic. In this role, you will play a key part in guiding our business through complex international B2B negotiations, safeguarding our IP, and ensuring full compliance with EU and Czech tech regulations (including the NIS2 Directive). You will collaborate closely with our Delivery and Development units to align legal strategy with hands-on technical execution. We are seeking an established legal professional (Advokát / Usazovaný evropský advokát) with a solid background of 5+ years in the IT domain.

Candidate Profile

• Education & Qualifications: Master’s degree in Law with an active Czech bar admission (Advokát / Usazovaný evropský advokát)
• IT Sector Background: At least 5 years of experience providing legal counsel in the tech industry, along with a deep practical grasp of Software House workflows.
• Compliance Expertise: Demonstrated background in creating, rolling out, and overseeing compliance frameworks while effectively managing legal risks in high-tech environments.
• Tech & IP Law: Sound proficiency in technology and intellectual property law under both Czech and European Union regulatory frameworks.
• Cybersecurity Standards: Hands-on understanding of Czech network and information security regulations, as well as the practical implications of the NIS2 Directive.
• B2B Contract Negotiations: Proven proficiency in handling international commercial negotiations for software development, maintenance, and IT service contracts.
• Language Skills: Professional fluency in Czech and English (C1/C2), sufficient for drafting complex contracts and leading high-level negotiations. Proficiency in Polish is a welcome bonus.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Management & Commercial Negotiations: Autonomously draft, evaluate, and negotiate international agreements (Agile, Fixed-Price, SaaS, On-Premise, licensing, and SLAs) across Czech and global markets.
• Compliance Operations: Formulate, establish, and review internal compliance mechanisms, data governance guidelines, and risk management policies across the company.
• Cybersecurity Alignment: Partner with IT and DevOps specialists to build and maintain legally compliant processes aligned with NIS2 requirements and local cyber legislation.
• Cross-Functional Team Partnering: Advise Delivery Managers, Project Managers, and software engineers to ensure Privacy & Security by Design standards are embedded from day one.
• Intellectual Property Protection: Oversee the protection of proprietary codebases, monitor Open Source software compliance, and defend company IP assets.
