Candidate profile
- Education: Completed university degree in computer science or a comparable field of study; at least 3 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role within the IT services industry.
- Know- how: solid professional knowledge of operating systems: Windows, Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) and virtualization technologies: VMware, Hyper-V; Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Bash; Experience with automated configuration management tools: Ansible, Puppet.
- The following certifications are a plus: ITIL Foundation, VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
- Working style: Hands-on mentality, analytical, structured and solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Languages: Business fluent English(min. C1) and very good German skills (min. B2).
Your responsibilities
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers (physical, virtual).
- DNS, NAS, SAN Infrastructure maintenance and administration.
- Maintain and administer web application servers and services (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat).
- Maintain and administer the VMware infrastructure and monitoring application (Icinga, Grafana and Prometheus, etc.).
- Managing backup and recovery processes across all servers.
- Managing user and system accounts.
- Monitoring of system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimising performance.
- Diagnosing and repairing faults, removing errors in systems.
- Root cause analysis and incident management for “Server and Infrastructure” related incidents.
- Participate in 2nd + 3rd line support teams for “Server and Infrastructure” related activities.
- Creating scripts and automating repetitive processes.
- Executing routine tasks and controlling activities.
- Identifying and applying security patches and bug fixes.
- Reacting to alarms and cybersecurity incidents.
