Senior Network Engineer (m/f/d)

Candidate profile

• Education: Successfully completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
• Expertise: 5+ years of professional experience as a Network Engineer; strong knowledge of:
  • Cisco networking technologies (routing & switching, VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF)
  • Firewall technologies (preferably Cisco or comparable enterprise solutions)
  • Cisco ISE and network access control
  • LAN/WAN architectures and network design principles
  • VPN technologies (site-to-site and remote access VPN concentrators)
  • Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Grafana, Icinga)
  •  Basic knowledge of data center infrastructure and structured cabling (fiber optics, Cat6/Cat6a)
  • General understanding of IT infrastructures (servers, virtualization) is beneficial
• Working style: Structured and analytical approach; strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, service-oriented mindset
• Languages: Fluent Business English (at least B2 level); German is a plus
• Additional information: Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Cisco CCNP, and/or equivalent network/security certifications are a plus

Your responsibilities

• Ensure documentation, ticketing system, user support and all relevant services in Network domain are fulfilled according to the SLA
• Handle service requests within 1st and 2nd level support in the network environment
• Take ownership of root cause analysis and incident management
• Deploy, test, maintain, upgrade and operate the customer network infrastructure from Layer 1 to Layer 3(LAN, WAN, WLAN, Cisco ISE, Firewalls)
• Network monitoring and management systems including reporting
• Prepare and provide IT support for meetings and conferences (video, audio, and presentation)
• Participate on scheduled changes implementation during IT Maintenance Windows  (including weekends and public holidays)
